R . I . M. Men's Ministry

Luke 5:4

R.I.M Men’s Ministry stands for Real Integrated Men.  The word integrated is defined as organized or structured so that the constituent units function cooperatively.

The modern church, in the recent past, has suffered from a lack of participation by men.  Historically, the women have taken the lead and held positions in most present day assemblies.  This trend is beginning to reverse as men again are taken their rightful position as leaders.

R.I.M is focused on getting men involved (integrated); becoming an army not an audience.  R.I.M is every man integrated into the fabric of the ministry.

In the gospel of Luke, Jesus told Peter to trust out a little so that He may minister to the people.  After He had ministered for a while, He then requested that Peter now launch out deeper than what was previously asked for a great reward.  Although Peter didn’t understand the request and although he had just come in from fishing without catching anything, he determined that he would obey Jesus and launched out into the deep and let down his net.  As a result, many fish were caught; to the point that the boat began to sink and the net broke.  Jesus told he and his companions to follow him and he would make them fishers of men.  Again, they obeyed the voice of Jesus.

The R.I.M is an instrument which supports the net in basketball.  A strong rim and strong net can not easily be broken.  R.I.M supports the net which captures the men of FFC.  The present R.I.M on a basketball goal has an open net which allows the ball to fall back from where it originated.  The original design of the rim however, was a peach basket nailed to the wall which had an enclosed bottom so that nothing would be lost.  R.I.M’s desire is that none should be lost (Jhn 6:39)

R.I.M’s approached is strategically in-line with the account of Luke chapter 5.

  1. Trust out a little – Men, support your ministry and family by faith as you become integrated into the body of Christ
  2. Launch out into the deep – Men, as we mature as Christians, God is looking for us to take greater leaps of faith and greater responsibility.
  3. Let down your nets for a draught – Men, win souls.  Share the gospel of Jesus Christ; accomplish that which He has commissioned of every Saint.
