John 3 (1).png

Do you have to be a righteous person to receive a miracle from God?
Can you receive a blessing from God when you are not on top of your
Christian game?

A Nobleman’s Son Healed

46 So Jesus came again to Cana of Galilee where He had made the water
wine. And there was a certain nobleman whose son was sick at
Capernaum. 47 When he heard that Jesus had come out of Judea into
Galilee, he went to Him and implored Him to come down and heal his son,
for he was at the point of death. 48 Then Jesus said to him, “Unless you
people see signs and wonders, you will by no means believe.”
49 The nobleman said to Him, “Sir, come down before my child dies!”
50 Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your son lives.” So the man believed
the word that Jesus spoke to him, and he went his way. 51 And as he was
now going down, his servants met him and told him, saying, “Your son

This story is about a Gentile centurion from Capernaum whose son was
sick and when he heard that Jesus was in Cana he went to Jesus and
begged Him to come to Capernaum and heal his son because he was at
the point of death.
Note: Capernaum to Cana was about a 15 miles journey.

Now Jesus could have translated himself to Capernaum however Jesus
had to stay on schedule, therefore Jesus sent his word and told him “go
back home your son will live”.

And this nobleman who was a Gentile believed the words that Jesus spoke
to him and he went back home and his son was healed.

Here is some crumbs from this text:

  1. First of all, we learn that Jesus was approachable the fact that this Gentile who was serving King Herod ( a secular King) would come and asked Jesus to heal his son shows that Jesus was touchable to the people
  2. Second, Jesus stay on schedule as we will see in John chapter 5 He heal a man in Bethesda who had an infirmity for 38 yrs.
  3. Thirdly, Jesus sent His word and the nobleman believed and his son was lived.

We can also believe and take God at His word. If a gentile nobleman can
take Christ at His word. How much more should the children of God hold on
and trust that God will take care of His children.

Heavenly Father, today I will take you at your word. I am a covenant child
and chosen by God .The blessings of Abraham belong to me, therefore I
believe and receive all that God has for me. I can live a life that is “Above
and Beyond” when I put my trust in Gods word.
In Jesus name
